HYVE

Terms of sale

Last updated 5 October 2026

These terms

These terms apply to orders placed by consumers on this website. A consumer is a person acting outside their trade, business, or profession. If you want to buy for a business, contact us before you order.

The contract is in English. Irish law applies. You can bring a claim in the Irish courts. If you live in another country in the European Union, you can also use any mandatory protection of the country where you live.

Nothing in these terms removes or limits a right that Irish or EU consumer law says we cannot remove or limit.

Accounts and guests

You can check out as a guest or sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. We do not use passwords. Keep access to that email inbox, because the code and your order messages go there.

A guest checkout still creates a customer record for the email address you enter, so we can send the receipt and keep the order. You can later sign in with a code to the same email address.

You must give a name, phone number, and, for delivery, an address we can use. You are responsible for information that is incomplete or wrong.

Products, food, and allergens

We sell packaged groceries, fresh and frozen food, prepared food, and household goods. We do not sell alcohol or other age-restricted goods on this website. Product pages describe the main characteristics, pack size, price, and any allergen information we hold.

For packaged food, read the label on the product. Where we have allergen information in the catalogue, we also show it on the product page. EU food law requires a clear indication of the 14 regulated allergens: celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, and sulphur dioxide and sulphites.

Our shop handles many ingredients. We cannot promise that a product is free from cross-contact with an allergen. If you have a severe allergy, contact us on +353 89 454 1692 or hyvegrocery@gmail.com before you order prepared food.

Photographs are a guide. Fresh food varies with the season and the supplier. Small differences in appearance do not mean the goods fail to match the contract.

Prices and payment

Prices are in euro and include any VAT that applies. The price you pay is the price shown for that product when you pay, plus the delivery charge shown at checkout. Delivery is currently €3.99, and free when the goods in the basket reach €35.00. Click and collect is free.

We accept card payments through Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. Stripe’s terms also apply to the payment. The means of payment are shown at the start of checkout.

If a price on the website is wrong, and the error is obvious, we may cancel the affected item and refund what you paid for it. We will tell you before we do that.

Placing an order

At checkout you choose delivery or click and collect, a date, and your contact details. The review step shows the goods, the total price including delivery, and whether the purchase is a one-off. It is a one-off purchase. There is no subscription or minimum term.

The button labelled with “Pay” and “securely” is your order with an obligation to pay. You then complete the card payment on Stripe. The contract is made when the payment succeeds and we accept the order. We email a receipt, which is your confirmation on a durable medium. The receipt includes a private tracking link that works for 30 days.

If you leave Stripe before paying, the order stays unpaid. We mark unpaid orders as cancelled after they have been waiting for more than 8 hours. A daily cleanup does that, so it can take up to about 32 hours.

If we cannot accept an order after payment, we will tell you and refund the payment.

Delivery and click and collect

Home delivery is available only to Eircodes starting with W12, R51, W23, R14, W91, K78, D22, or D24. The checkout page refuses delivery to any other Eircode. Those addresses can use click and collect. You choose a delivery date from the next day onward. Same-day home delivery is not available.

Click and collect is from Royal Spice Land Newbridge, Main St, Greatconnell, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, W12 NR23, Ireland. You can choose a collection date from today through the next two weeks. Bring the name and phone number used at checkout.

Please collect on the date you chose. If you cannot, contact us before that day. We hold an uncollected perishable order for 1 day. We hold any other uncollected order for 3 days.

Someone needs to be available at the delivery address on the date you chose. If we cannot deliver because the address, access, or recipient is unavailable, we will contact you on the phone number you gave. Extra delivery attempts may have to be arranged again.

More detail is on the delivery page.

If an item is unavailable

We do not substitute a different product. If an item is out of stock after you order, we remove that item and refund what you paid for it, including a fair share of the delivery charge if the rest of the order no longer qualifies for the delivery you paid.

Cancellation, returns, and faulty goods

Food that can deteriorate or expire quickly, and food made to your specifications, is excluded from the 14-day right to cancel a distance contract just because you change your mind. Sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons are also excluded once you unseal them.

Eligible household goods can be cancelled within 14 days after you, or someone you nominate other than the carrier, take physical possession. You pay the direct cost of posting those goods back, unless they are faulty or not as described. The full instructions and the model form are on the returns page and the cancellation form.

Separate from any change-of-mind right, goods must match their description, be fit for purpose, and be as durable as you can reasonably expect. If they are not, the Consumer Rights Act 2022 gives you remedies, including a short-term right to end the contract and get a refund when you tell us within 30 days of receiving the goods. That includes food that is unsafe, spoiled on arrival, or not what you ordered. We will not ask you to post unsafe food back. Contact us and, if you can, send a photo.

Using the website

Use the website lawfully. Do not interfere with the shop, attempt to access another customer’s order, or use the one-time-code process to harass or impersonate someone. We may refuse an order or close an account that is being used for fraud, abuse, or resale. If we do that after you have paid for goods we can still supply, we will refund the goods we do not supply.

Our responsibility

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, or of our failing to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence of our breach, or if you and we knew it might happen when the contract was made.

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, road closures, or a supplier failure. If that stops us supplying goods, we will tell you and refund the goods we cannot supply.

Complaints

Contact hyvegrocery@gmail.com or +353 89 454 1692 and include your order number. We will acknowledge the complaint and tell you how we will look at it.

You can get information about your rights from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at ccpc.ie. If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre Ireland can explain cross-border options at eccireland.ie. We are not currently committed to a named alternative dispute resolution body. The European online dispute resolution platform has closed, so we do not link to it.

Changes

We may update these terms for future orders. The version on this page on the day you pay applies to that order. The pre-contract information we give you, including these terms, forms part of the distance contract and is not changed unless you and we expressly agree.
